Dunedin Premier Rugby Second Round-Up

There was a lot of scoring action in the second round of Dunedin Division’s Rugby competition 1 Club today.

Taieri, University and Ilha Verde went through the mark of 50 points in glorious conditions.

Taieri hit Alhambra-Union 69-7, the university beat Zingari-Richmond 53-26, and current Green champion Island showed her class in a 66-15 kaikorai demolition.

It was much closer to the other game, when Harbor, which started with a roar, had to come from behind to beat the south 35 to 31.

There was a good part of the class on display at Peter Johnstone Park as a backline of Rockstar Taieri containing Cameron Miller, Jacob RatumaTavuki-Kneepkens and brothers Whanga, Matt and Josh, put Au on the sword.

The eels were relentless in the counterattack and led 40-7 at the break.

It was a significant return to the action for defender Jacob RatumaTavuki-Kneepkens, who returned from a broken neck.
