Some drinks in the pub before the school race got a Dunedin father in trouble with the police.

Sergeant Anthony Bond of Dunedin said that the 35-year-old allegedly recorded an alcohol level from 400mcg at 2:30 pm yesterday the legal limit is 250mcg.

“He was in the pub and was on his way to catching the children from school.”

The man received a notice of infraction.

Last night, police received a call over a rugged car found abandoned in a ditch in Bush RD, Green Island.

“Some young people were seen nearby by the interlocutor, but on the arrival of the police, no one was around,” said Snr Sgnt Bond.
