Leon Draisaitl scored his second goal of the night with a score of 3:52 in overtime, with the Edmonton Oilers defeating the New York Islanders 2-1 on Friday night.
Calvin Pickard scored 24 saves to help the Oilers win for the fourth time in seven games.
When asked about Pickard’s game, he said after the game, “He gives us a chance every time.” “You can’t ask for it anymore. We like to play for him.”
Bo Horvat scored for the Islanders and Ilya Sorokin scored 33 saves. New York lost its third time.
In overtime, Draisaitl got a pass from Connor McDavid and beat Sorokin with his 49th goal lead of the NHL this season.

“I’ve seen Leon just take control of his game,” Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch said after the victory. “He’s always reigning. Every night, he’s one of the best forwards every night. That’s a star player.”
The Oilers beat the Islanders 17-6 in the first stage of the first scoreless, while Draisaitl shot a shot at the top of the second circle and a shot at the top of the second circle.
Horvat tied the Islanders 1-1 at 1:21 in the third inning as he slid over the right side with Anthony Duclair in a 2-on-1 match to pull the puck and beat Pickard to the 21st.
