Donald Trump launches strikes against Yemen’s Houthis | World News

US President Donald Trump has launched strikes against the Houthis in Yemen.

In a post on his truth social platform, he also warned that Iran should “end” the country’s support for the group immediately.

The Iran-backed Houthis reported a series of explosions in Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Saturday night.

The Houthi-managed Ministry of Health said at least nine civilians were killed.

Images shared online show poultry of black smoke over the area of the city’s airport pocket, which includes an outstretched military facility.

Mr. Trump said the strikes were over the Houthi’s attacks on ships in the Red Sea.

“Your time is over, and your attacks have to stop, and it starts today. If they don’t, hell will rain on your on your way like nothing you’ve seen before,” he said.

The president said Iran will be held ‘fully liable’ for the actions of its proxy and adds: ‘And we will not be nice about it!’

The strikes come days after the Houthi’s said they would resume attacks on Israeli vessels that sailed in the waters of Yemen in response to Israel’s blockade on Gaza, although no wooden attacks have since been reported.

The US, Israel and Britain have previously hit Houthi-held areas in Yemen.
