DNA match leads to arrest in Hamilton sexual assault from 2015

A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Hamilton in 2015.

Police said this happened around 3 a.m. on August 14, 2015 in the Quigley Road and Veevers Drive areas. The suspect allegedly pulled the victim to the forest area when the suspect walked and beat her.

She managed to kick the suspect in the face with her boots. Investigators collected DNA evidence from the boots, but no match was found at the time.

In December 2021, the DNA competition was identified, resulting in further investigation and the suspect was eventually arrested on March 4, 2025.

He has been released on a job and will appear in court later. The suspect was young at the time of the alleged attack.
