One person died after a dog attack in Katikati in Plenty Bay.
Police said they were alerted to two people suffering injuries at 2:50 pm on Friday.
One person was transported to Katikati Medical Center in critical condition and died shortly thereafter.
Another person received moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The animal management team took the dogs involved in the incident.
Police are asking questions about the incident on behalf of the coroner.
