City police arrested 14 people in recent multi-day operations and filed 22 charges against a multi-day operation in troubled downtown Windsor.

From Thursday to Saturday, members of the issue-oriented police department worked with Windsor Essex Community Housing to focus on apartment buildings in the Glengarry community.

Police said over the three days, police executed 10 outstanding warrants in the area, 14 people were detained and filed multiple charges, including trespassing, theft of $5,000 and eight failed to comply with releases. The charge of decree.
“The arrest is the latest step in the Windsor Police Department and community partners’ high visibility program to improve public safety and quality of life in the Glengarry community,” police said. “These recent arrests underscore our consistent commitment to addressing criminal activities in the Grangarry community,” Insp. Robert Wilson, who is in charge of the patrol response, said in a statement Monday.
