Tonight, the locals said it was a “catastrophe.”
“It was like a catastrophe, it was like an earthquake that happened in silence,” said local resident Tracey Pinnow.
“All we can think about is the parents, for not blaming for their own afternoon, walking home from the stores.”
Andrew Pinnow agreed: “It is difficult to believe that this has happened” in his local area.
“A small coastal place like Ocean Grove, where children spend all the time every day,” he said.
The families put floral tributes on the scene and cried the loss of the child.
“Everywhere we have this morning to get flowers, everyone is crying, and we cannot believe that something like this can happen so fast,” said Tracey.
The alleged driver, a 71 -year -old woman from Ocean Grove, was arrested and was taken to the hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol tests.
After an extensive interrogation, she was released awaiting new consultations.
The investigations are still ongoing.
