The Chinese automatic giant Chery has promised to launch 19 new hybrid models worldwide only this year, as part of its objective of offering more efficient fuel vehicles in global markets.
In an event in China today, Chery announced that the 19 electrified models will include traditional hybrid, plug -in (PHEV) and extended electric vehicle vehicles (EREV), but not battery systems (EV).
This adds to its ‘super hybrid’ system, which was launched last year and acts more like a Phev than a traditional hybrid motor train.
These upcoming hybrid models will include electrified versions of the Tiggo 7, 8 and 9, all which will be revealed in the Shanghai Motor Show next week.

Earlier this year, Chery Australia said that Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro will be two of the brand’s first models to offer Phev Power.
In China, both models incorporate an engine of turbocharged gasoline of 1.5 liters “specific hybrid” coupled to a direct hybrid transmission (DHT), with an integrated electric motor and an motor controller, which provides up to 240 kW of power and 545 Nm of torque, thus 80 km of driving range of a driving range of 19.27kW.
However, the new models are expected to be revealed in Shanghai to present an even more capable motor train.

In Australia, traditional hybrid sales increase almost 35 percent to start the year, while PHEV sales have increased by more than 280 percent.
On the contrary, EV sales fell 29.6 percent.
