The specialized private hospital management of 130 Fiji beds has praised Fiji Airways for starting direct flights between Cairns, Australia and Nadi from Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Located just a stone shot from the Nadi International Airport, the Pacific Health Specialist (PSH Hospitals) has strategically aligned with the common vision shared by the Fiji government to turn the country into an attractive medical tourism center.
“We share a common vision with the government of the time and we have started working to achieve our goals to make Fiji an attractive destination for tourists who want to travel for health reasons,” said PSH’s founder and executive director, Paruta Kumar.
He said that the new connection three times a week in Cairns every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, landing in Fiji about four hours and 30 minutes later will give more direct access to the Australians to world class medical services instantly when landing in Nadi.
“While Australian citizens constitute the largest number of Fiji visitors annually, they do not need a visa to visit Fiji for tourist purposes if their stay is less than four months and this is an additional advantage,” Kumar said.
He said that PSH hospitals will be able to carry out medical procedures for Australians to a fraction of what they would normally pay in their country of origin.
“An average Australian could pay around $ 100,000 for cardiac bypass surgery and here in PSH hospitals we can offer the same for a fraction of that cost.”
