Cameron Green is ready to play Crickt again, six months after the surgery of the column that forced him to leave the series of Australian drought on India last summer.
The SUV is now planning his return to the test team, with a world championship of testing against South Africa in June and a series of homemade ashes that begin in November.
The 25 -year -old will soon leave for England to play for Gloudeshire, but will not play until next Australian summer.
“I’m a week after flying to England,” Green told reporters in Perth on Monday.
“I would have been ready for the final of the shield if that happened … but it was not destined to be.
“But I’m doing very well.”
Green has not played since last September when she was diagnosed with stress fractures in the lower back, aggravated by what Cricket Australia has described as a “unique defect” near the fractures.
The SUV opted for surgery instead of letting fractures be cured naturally for a period of nine months.
Green made the decision to have an operation after similar surgery was successful for the Australian bowling companions Jason Behrendorff and Ben Dwarshuis.
“Surgery has been incredible,” Green said.
“I was probably out of my legs for about two weeks and after that I have been doing gymnastics work during the last four or five months, I have been working during the last two months and has been hitting during the last month.
“It has been quite perfect, so I’m quite happy to have done it.
“Many success stories have come out, and what I loved was to talk to Jason Beherndorf, chatting with Ben Dwarshuis about how successful surgery for them has been … the crossed fingers is exactly the same for me.”
Green’s initial objective was to return to Sheffield Shield’s last round, but changed to recover his testing place for the final of the Australian World Testing Championship against South Africa in June.
“I always thought about going back to the last shield game,” he said.
“But then he became quite fast to the world test [Championship] And what will give me the best opportunity to be available for that and press my name for the selection.
“That’s why I’m anxious to pass [to England].
First of all … to play the game Crick, obviously I have not played a lot for a while, so return to a first -class Crick before the World Testing Championship, but also to experience what it is to play in England with Dukes’s ball and get more experience there when I can. “
Green was Australian number four batter before his injury, and his return would impose the places for the World Testing Championship.
“Obviously we have a top five, six, seven, seven, so it is never easy,” he said.
“But that is where you want to be in the test team. Want that someone basically assume the challenge, take that position for themselves and that is what has been done.
“They have had another ultra successful summer and I was very happy to see, but at the same time you want to return to the team, so we will wait and see what happens.”
