A colossal fire broke out on Tuesday in a Malaysian suburb outside Kuala Lumpur due to a cracked gas pipeline, which asked for evacuation of homes in the area.

The tower inferno near a gas station in Putra Heights in the Central Selangor -State was visible for miles. National oil company Petronas said in a statement that the fire broke out at one of its gas pipeline at 8.10 hours.

A brief statement says that the affected pipeline is isolated. Three gas stations in the area have not been affected, but are temporarily closed as a precaution, Petronas said, adding that investigations are still underway.

The Selangor disaster management unit said in a statement that the flames were spreading to several houses in a nearby town, and efforts were made to rescue residents who were trapped. It has been added that several people sustained burns and will be taken for treatment, but the extent of the full damage is assessed, and said the valve was closed to the pipeline, and that it would eventually catch the fire.

The star The English newspaper said fire and rescue teams saved seven victims, including two elderly individuals. No casualties have been reported so far.

Dozens of firefighters from Selangor were sent to the scene. Selangor chief minister Amirudin Shari said the fire department quickly evacuated residents of nearby homes as a safety measure. He said they would be temporarily placed in a mosque in the area until the situation is under control.

Photos and videos of the Fireball have become viral on social media, with some residents saying that they feel that the doors and windows of their homes believe they are earlier due to the explosion of the fire.
