Bruce Parry is a ‘hero of modern documentary TV’ by fans in for his wild exploitation in the recharge of his Noughties Adventure series, Tribe.
Former Royal Marine, 56, first performed in the BBC2 documentary series from 2004 to 2007, which made him live with different tribal groups to better understand their culture.
For the 2025 edition, the show was re -nominated as Stem with bruce parry and see the Explorer projectile braai after doing Psychusa with the Waimaha people in the Colombian Amazon Rainforest.
Elsewhere in the show, Parry visited the Mukubal tribe in Angola, where he suffocated a goat with his mere hands, and described the incident as “the most horrific thing I’ve ever done”.
Fans were ecstatic to see that Parry’s escapades return to the screens to an almost second-sized hiatus, with memes of former Royal Marine going on social media viral.
“It’s great to see Bruce Parry back to do psychoral and push up scorpions to impress tribes,” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter.
“These undiscovered tribes should see that he is coming,” another person added.
“They put chillies on his nose, let him eat cold boiled frogs and now make him his intestines. And he remains cheerful! ‘
Meanwhile, a third fan praised Parry for his “deep immersion in indigenous cultures” which calls the series “both eye opening and humble”.
“What’s a Sunday night without seeing Bruce Parry sick on the count?” Another person asked, while further fans called the explorer “f ****** bonkers” because he participated in the tribes’ rituals.

The new series of Tribe is a mini-series of three episodes in which Parry visits communities that are threatened in today’s modern world.
Parry said over Comeback: ‘It’s been over twenty years since Tribe First broadcast.
“Living with people experiencing the world in such profound ways was then open, but it feels essential today,” he added. “I believe that we have so much to learn from those who still live in a deep connection with the world around them,” the explorer continued.
“It feels a great privilege that the BBC has enabled me to re -explore these places and themes.”
The Tribe recharge has largely received positive reviews with The Guardian’s Jack Seale awarded the mini-series four stars, despite the recurring nature of the program format.
“It’s the same old,” writes Seale of Parry who is vomiting in the jungle. “But it feels good to switch again.”
