Three prison officials were attacked by the brother of the Manchester Arena bomber, the prison officer said.

Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood said on X: ‘I’m upset about the attack of three brave officers at HMP Frankland today. My mind is with them and their families.
‘The police are investigating now. I will offend the strongest possible punishment. Violence against our staff will never be tolerated. ‘
Twenty -two people were killed when Salman abedi a bomb exploded when people left an Ariana Grande concert on the venue.
He died in the attack, while hundreds of others were injured.

He helped to source, buy and transport the components for his brother’s bomb, and previously heard a number of phones, vehicles and addresses in preparation for the attack.
