The result of one of the emblematic racing events in countries in northern Western Australia has been updated with the winning horse disqualified for a prohibited substance in its system.
Vevinsky, six years old, mounted by the rider Kristo Sardelic and trained by Kelvin Moore de Derby, won the 2,200m Broome Cup for three and a half lengths in August.
But the result was questioned when the tests detected Lignocaine, a prohibited anesthetic, in Veinsky’s blood.

After an investigation by Racing Wa WA, Mr. Moore declared himself guilty of a position to “present a horse to run” with a prohibited substance in his system.
“I made clear the butlers who was not responsible for administering the substance to the horse, nor did he have any knowledge at the time the horse had been treated with a prohibited substance,” Moore said in a statement, issued by his lawyer Tom Percy.
“There is no evidence that the horse has been assisted to any degree due to the presence of the substance in its system.”
The butlers have accepted the plea of Mr. Moore and will deliver a penalty within a fortnight.
“Losing the Broome Cup in circumstances like this is a devastating blow to me and the owners of the horse,” said Moore.
Mr. Moore’s statement said he took “all possible precautions to ensure that the horse present without drugs in the day.”

Change of racing placements
The disqualification of Vevinsky means that the $ 54,000 bag will go to the second -place horse, the attorneal coach, trained by Dean Curvera.
The fourth rock of Zadar Rock of Keeping will move to the third, while the gold of the player of coach Darryn Pateman is promoted to second place from the third.

Both coaches told ABC their dismay for “unusual circumstances”, but “they would happily accept the prize money.”
The coach based in South Hedland, Mr. Recovera, said he had mixed emotions about the news that his horse was now the winner of the Broome 2024 Cup.
“We strive to win a Broome Cup, but they are not the circumstances we wanted,” he said.
“It is quite bittersweet.“
Both coaches spoke very well of Kelvin Moore, an accessory of the careers industry in northern WA.
Racing WA has not revealed any additional details about the investigation.
Property of a Derby families cohort, Vevinsky had a stellar year in 2024, winning the Kimberley Cup in Broome and the Derby Cup in the West Kimberley Turf Club.
Those victories are not in doubt.
“The racing horses are athletes and it is responsibility that we assume as coaches when we get our license,” said Cocivera.

“Each race is very strict with controls and audit, the cameras are in riders to see that they are riding their best, and chemical tests are increasingly improving science.”
Cuzzer said he had taken a lot for the almetric coach to be in condition for the cup, and the team was impressed with his performance in second place.
“And Zadar has 12 or 13 owners in him, so they are pleased to get a little more money in the bank,” he said.
“[Horse racing] It is not cheap. I would not advise him as a way of earning money.“
