Australian cricketer Georgia Voll thrilled with successful summer

The Women’s Cricket was not even televised when the Australian star Georgia Voll was a little girl.

But after a summer season, Voll is providing a lot of inspiration for the next generation of players.

It is a responsibility that the 21 -year -old, who is from Towoomba in Regional Queensland, takes seriously.

“I think that is the main thing for me, inspiring the next generation in the way I take the field, but also out of the field,” he said.

Voll, who was the female domestic player of the year of Cricket Australia by 2025, said he had not always intended to play the Crick.

When he was young, he was inspired by the legend of the Rugby Steph Hancock League and dreamed with one day playing for the Jillaroos.

But after moving to Brisbane with his family at the beginning of the pandemic, he was offered a Crickt contract.

She said she hadn’t looked back.

“When you’re young, you always say: ‘I want to be a professional athlete, I want to play for Australia,” he said.

“Playing with the Australian women’s team is something you dream.

“I think I’m living the dream to be honest with you, I really can’t ask for much more.”

But she said there had been sacrifices along the way.

She accredited her family for what was needed to take her there.

“All those balls that my dad threw me into the backyard,” he said.

“My mother took me from Toowoomba to Brisbane four or five times a week for about three or four years just to come to Cricket training minors.

“The sacrifices he did in terms of work and things like that, just to take me to Brisbane so that I could train in the best facilities.”

Ashes debut

Voll debuted with the Australian women team that won the three one -day international (ODI), the three T20 and the independent test in the 2024/25 ashes series against England.

“The dodger of 16 nulls was great to be part,” he said.

“Especially being at home in front of my family and more or less where it all started, when I debuted for Queensland in 2020”.

She scored a maiden century of only 84 balls in her second hate.

He motivated her to stay on the side of the story.

“My great goal would be [continue] To perform in the country first, “Voll said.

“When I have the opportunity to pull Australian colors, take it with both hands and do the best job I can.”

Her last progression in her career has taken her abroad.

It was added to the UP Warriorz team in the Female Premier League in India as a replacement for injuries.

In his second game last weekend, only one career fell to become the first batter to score a century in the competition.

The former coach of the Rugby League, Lisa Croft, said she had met Voll since she was an “fun and peculiar” girl.

Now the teacher of the Warwick School sees Voll play the Crick on television with her own daughter, full of immense pride.

“I think it’s so good that young children can specifically watch that on television now and have something to aim at,” he said.

“Being a teacher, I think you always expect to have some impact on a young person in some way.

“I think one day will probably lead your country, if you are given the opportunity.”

Cricket commentators have described Voll the next big thing, a young gun and a rising star.

Voll said he did not read too much about that, but remained focused.

“Just try to work very hard and let the performances speak,” he said.

“I feel that I have a long way to go in terms of demonstrating myself.”
