Auburn (32-5) achieved his second Final Four trip, while Michigan State (30-7) lacked to send coach Tom Izzo to his ninth national semi-finals. Auburn’s only previous Final Four appearance came in 2019, also under Coach Bruce Pearl.

The South Regional Champion Tigers, the top -only seed in the NCAA tournament, became the last of the number 1 seeds to advance to the Final Four -at Florida, Duke and Houston.

This is the first time that all top seeds have reached the final four since 2008, which has been the only previous year of all semi-finalists of the number 1 seed since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.
