A number of people have been arrested after 300 liters of crimson dye was dumped into a dam outside the US embassy in London in protest against America’s sale of weapon to Israel.
Will McCallum, co-executive director of Greenpeace UK, was, according to the international organization, one of the WAT was detained.
Greenpeace said six people were arrested on Thursday morning after the stunt, but metropolitan police said only five arrests were made.
The power said that officers on duty at the embassy in nine Elms on duty were on the incident at about 07:30.
A police spokesman added: ‘The group completed, but officers responded quickly and conducted a search for the area.
‘Five people have so far been arrested on the suspicion of criminal damage and conspiracy to cause criminal damage.
‘The dam is accessible via a public footpath. There was no offense or attempted violation of the safe perimeter of the terrain. ‘
Areeba Hamid, co-executive director of Greenpeace UK, said the dye is non-toxic, biologically degradable and designed to wash away naturally.
She added: “We have taken these steps because American weapons have still fueled an indiscriminate war that is seen that bombs fall into schools and hospitals, the entire neighborhoods blown to debris, and wiped out tens of thousands of Palestinian life.
‘As the largest weapon supplier to the Israeli army, the US government bears a great responsibility for the horrors that unfold in Gaza.
“Instead of accepting laws that make it easier for the police to arrest people who make their votes on the issues they care about, the US and British governments must listen to the majority of Americans and British who support an arms embarch on Israel.”

The war between Israel and Hamas began when Hamas-led militants invaded Israel on October 7, 2023 and killed about 1,200 people and took 251 hostage.
Israel’s offensive killed more than 50,000 Palestinians, according to the Hamas-managed health minister of Hamas, which does not distinguish between civilians or fighters, with another 115,338 wounded.
Israel says it killed about 20,000 militants.
