Anaru Moana Homicide: Fourth person accused of murder

A 32 -year -old woman from South Canterbury was accused of Waimate Man Anaru Moana’s 2021 murder.

Detective inspector Joel Syme said the woman appeared at the Timaru District Court on Friday after her arrest on Thursday.

It will remain in custody and reappear at Christchurch’s Supreme Court on April 11.

Moana was reported that she disappeared on December 23, 2021. Extensive investigations were carried out to locate it and hold those responsible for saying Syme.

Police believe he was murdered at the time he disappeared.

“Four people are now facing accusations of Moana’s murder,” Syme said.

“Our work is not over; Moana’s body was not located and this remains the focus for us. His Whanāu deserves the right to put his loved one to rest. We continue to insist on those who know where Moana’s body must inform us.”

He said the police thanked public members who provided information.
