Actors, directors and fame friends paid tribute to Val Kilmer, after being 65 years old.
The California-born star of Top Gun, Batman and Heat died of pneumonia On Tuesday night in Los Angeles, his daughter Mercedes told The Associated Press.
She said Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, but later recovered.
Tribute flooded after reports of the actor’s death, with no country for old men’s star Josh Brolin among the first to share their memories.

He wrote on Instagram: “Look, Pal. I’m going to miss you. You were a smart, challenging, brave, uber-retailing fire worker. There is not much left of it.
“I hope to see you up there in heaven when I finally get there. Until then, incredible memories, lovely thoughts. ‘

Kyle Maclachlan, who was compiled with Kilmer in the Biopic the Doors in 1991, wrote on social media: “You will always be my Jim. See you on the other hand my friend.”
Michael Mann, who directed Kilmer in the 1995 Heat, also paid tribute in a statement, saying: ‘I was always amazed at the series, the brilliant variability within the powerful stream of Val’s possession and expression of character.
“After so many years of falling that struggles and keeps his spirit, this is very sad news.”

Nicolas Cage added that “I always liked Val and is sad to hear about his passing”.
“I thought he was a brilliant actor,” he said. “I enjoyed working on Bad Lieutenant with him and I admired his dedication and sense of humor.
