Mother arrested for ‘using electric shock dog collar on child’ | US News



According to US prosecutors, a mother was arrested after allegedly using an electric shock dog collar on her child.

Police opened an investigation on March 17 after a child with visible marks went to school on their body, according to the Cape May County County prosecutor’s office.

The investigation revealed that the marks of an electric shock dog collar, US Partner Network NBC News of Sky News, reported.

The mother of the child, the 30-year-old Kimberly Cruz-Feliciano, was arrested and charged with the end of a child’s welfare, aggravating assault, evidence of the evidence and other related charges.

Cruz-Feliciano is accused of threatening the victim with more violence if they tell someone about using the dog collar.

She is currently being detained in the Cape Correctional Center and awaits court proceedings.

Meanwhile, Cruz-Feliciano’s mother Sonia Feliciano, the child’s grandmother, was charged with hindering and tampering with testimony, officials said.

The 59-year-old man was released on a subpoena pending court proceedings.

The age and gender of the child was not reported in American media.

“We are taking all the allegations of child abuse with the greatest seriousness, and we will continue to ensure that those responsible for such heinous acts are held fully liable in terms of the law,” Prosecutor Jeffrey H Sutherland said in a statement.
