A company that once operated a popular South Dunedin Taberna was settled, leaving behind more than $ 100,000 of the remaining debt.
Akuhata Ltd was placed in liquidation in February last year, with Trevor and Emma Laing appointed liquidators.
The company was incorporated in November 2020 to buy a tavern operation of a leased installation in Dunedin, Kensington Tavern, the liquidator’s first report said.
The deal was placed in the market in 2023 and an agreement for sale was signed and established in January last year.
Payments to guaranteed creditors were made with sales funds, but the available balance was not enough to satisfy all other lenders in full, he said.
The final report of the liquidator, made public this month, said that a total of $ 20,976.02 in assets was made.
10 complaints from creditors were received.
IRD, listed as a preferred creditor, received $ 11,034.93.
Preferred creditors received 9C to the dollar and a remaining $ 109,250.59 was still due, a summary report that accompanies him said.
