Could an infection of the lice have led to the unraveling of a gang of children who caused unspeakable horror?

A pedophile ring, a mixture of seven Glassgow Men and women, who have been in the face for seven years, despite being big red flags.
From 2012, a group of children, including some young enough to wear drugs, have been subjected to organized “rape evenings” by drug users who have placed them with alcohol and cocaine.
None of those present tried to help the children, who were all under the age of 13, but instead they clapped, filmed and paid for the abuse to continue.
Questions remain about the abuse performed in the ‘Beastie House’
One boy remembers hearing a ‘squeak’ indicating a timer when one rape would end, and the other would begin.
This horror unfolded behind the doors of a dirty drug – an apartment on the ground floor in a suburb infected by insects, known as the ‘Beastie House’.
The gang even forced the elementary school children to eat dog food and abuse each other while their Molesters walked around the spectators.

During the hearing in 2023, which eventually saw the seven abusers Each receiving an order for lifelong restrictionJudge Lord Beckett said the scandal dropped to the “depths of human depravity”.
The gang consists of Iain Owens, 46; Elaine Lannery, 40; Lesley Williams (43); Paul Brannan, 42; Scott Forbes, 51; Barry Watson, 48, and John Clark (48). They are all in total in prison.
There are questions about how this could have happened in the first place.
The children were visited by social workers and even placed on the Child Protection Register in 2018 before the police crashed into the case in 2020.
How can it be that young people who are regularly raped as part of an organized ring can at the same time sit on a register designed to prevent them from harming?
The Supreme Court jury heard a variety of evidence of people who had concerns.
The police worked through almost 1,000 evidence – so surely there would be someone who would be willing to discuss the warning signs they saw?

But no one I encountered would speak from capers to local shop owners. Until finally, I spotted a man who spoke to detectives as part of the investigation.

He spoke for the first time in public and revealed that he regularly saw the children and remembered an evening where he saw head lice on one girl and tried to arrange treatment.
“One of their hair was messy with head lice and because she was at the same age as my child, I said ‘why would you not do your hair’,” he said.
“She left them on her head to keep the animals away from her. The head lice protected her from them. ‘
The man said he was concerned about how malnourished some of the victims were and described that the situation was going ‘wrong’ in 2018.
“They always sat with adults trying to get food. They were searching … it was heartbreaking, ‘he said.
“The system has failed.”
Sky News has learned that concerns about the charities have also been raised. The actions of social workers, police and child protection services are now being investigated as part of an independent review.
These reviews are common in Britain when serious damage or death is fitted to a child.
Does reviews actually work?
But how effective is it when a commitment of “lessons is learned” is then undone when the next tragedy comes together?
One former child commissioner for Scotland And the leading child protection expert told Sky News that the entire review process is being reconsidered.

Tam Baillie said: “Learning assessments are important. The challenge for them is how effective the recommendations that come from reviews implement because it is the bit that really counts.
“There is no sense to do the review unless it actively affects the change in the system.”
Mr. Baillie, who has 35 years of child protection experience, said the public is ready to ask questions about this matter.
He said: “The process of learning judgments is currently being considered so that we can make improvements to ensure that we do not look at the same lessons again and again.”

I sat in the courtroom during the hearing, while the pedophiles, who were on bail at the time, laughed and joked in the dock between breaks.

Their sober action when the jury was present was very different from their behavior outside the Glasgow High Court.
I have been reporting on criminal proceedings for almost 15 years and their turbulent behavior is in stark contrast to other people accused of such serious crimes that have more respect for the process.

While the Sky News team filmed their mask-covered faces entering the court, they would scream obscenities and threaten to attack us.
One repeatedly shouted that the children were ‘liars’. The jury did not believe a word of it and convicted them.
At the end of another grueling day of testimony, two of the accused walked out to their Watchtaxi and threatened to “seize” me. One of them hurled in our direction.
They were quickly told to “keep” the car through the long -term police officers and “go in”.
Days later, a jury convicted them of some of the most horrific crimes this country has ever seen.
Leading KC calls it stop after this matter
One prominent KC, Thomas Leonard Ross, who was involved in the hearing, told Sky News this case is a point for him.
After working on 400 cases in the Supreme Court, he is so traumatized that he says he will never work on a sexual abuse again.

“This is the worst example of child abuse I’ve ever heard. It was awful to sit and listen,” he said.
‘You left the impression that these children were known to the Department of Social Work. It was surprising that no steps were taken to remove them from the scenario they used to be.
“Questions have been raised, and I understand why the public is looking for answers to these questions.”
It is unclear when the independent review of his findings will report, but the Glasgow City Council told Sky News that it would fully implement all recommendations.
A spokesman said: “This is a unique complicated matter involving extraordinary sensitive issues and a number of individuals, and our focus remains to support everyone involved in this process.”
There is a consensus that these children have failed. But our investigation raises fresh questions about how Scotland’s greatest pedophile gang has succeeded in causing such prolonged pain.
