The two -time Olympic silver medalist, Nicola Olyslagers, threw caution in the wind when he tried to break his national record of height jump in the Australian athletics championship in Perth.
Olyslagers captured the gold medal when she successfully cleared 2.01 meters through her first attempt on Sunday afternoon.

It ended in front of Eleanor Patterson (1.97m) in a repetition of the end one and two in the World Athletics Indoor Championship last month in Nanjing.
Instead of seeking to match their Australian record of 2.03M, the Olyslagers raised the bar even higher.
She had three attempts of 2.05 m, but was not successful with each one.
However, Olyslagers did not discourage, since she was proud of the fact that she pushed the envelope trying a height beyond her national brand.
“I’m very happy with that,” said Olyslagers.
“Today, I wanted to try 2.05m. I said that I and 2.05m have a little pending matter.
“So today it was the first time in Australia in this competition that I tried my new meeting to get a little more speed.
“If I really want to get the best of me, I need to be bold.
“I need to practice what I preach. So today I am like, ‘I don’t go to 2.03, I don’t go to 2.04, today it is 2.05′”.
Olyslagers added: “I think that if I had an attempt more than 2.05, there could have been something there.”
The 28 -year -old passed to each height until the bar rose to 1.88 m in the final.
He maintained a clean sheet before his three failures at 2.05 m.
Olyslagers arrived in Perth for the national titles promoted by their triumph in Nanjing.
She won the gold in front of Patterson in the countdown after both cleared 1.97m.
They ended in front of the Ukraine Olympic champion, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who left the final at 1.95m to collect the bronze.
The Olyslagers will compete in the Chinese leg of the Diamond League circuit in the Xiamen (April 26) and Shanghai/Keqiao (May 3) gather.
Speaking to ABC Sport last week, Olyslagers said that the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo were their main focus this year.
