Three rescued after the yacht clean the bank peninsula

One of the three men made a call shortly after 1 pm, saying the engine failed and they were pushed into the rocks in Little Akaloa Heads.

The three men abandoned the ship, and the group separated as two tried to approach the cliff, while the other was closer to the ship hit.

Coast Guard volunteers and Westpac rescue helicopter responded to the call.

Sumner Blue Arrow Rescue Skipper Anthony Honeybone coast guard said seven volunteers were in the water in 15 minutes.

He said the two men were rescued from the rocks and were “shaken and cold, but thin.”

The third man was led in the helicopter and taken back to the coast. He was not injured either.

Honeybone said the ransom occurred against strong 20 knots and rough waves, but they did the right thing asking for help when they did.

“It’s good to make sure your boat is in good working condition, and you have experience in the conditions you are leaving. Anyone can break, this happens to the best of us.”

Sumner’s Hamilton Jet Rescue Hamilton Jet Rescue was also sent, but was shot down when the men were rescued.
