Emergency services are at the scene of a serious accident in Dowse Drive, Lower Hutt, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Police said they were called to the scene around 7:15 pm on Sunday.
A pedestrian is in serious condition.
The road is closed, with deviations in force. Police are advising drivers to avoid the area if possible.
