Santa Fe, no people were rescued from the back of a U-Haul motion truck after a man caught them and directed the police in a persecution in New Mexico, police said.
The two people, a man and a woman, reported that they were helping Stacy Walker, 50, of Sana Fe, clean the truck, said the Santa Fe police department in a publication of April 9 on Facebook.
Suddenly, Walker “closed the back door in the moving truck, blocking them” and “then immediately began to deviate and drive recklessly, which caused both victims to be thrown in the back of the truck in motion,” said the police.
Walker was finally arrested in relation to multiple positions, including kidnapping and aggravated assault on a peace officer, police said.
The defense lawyer’s information did not appear in the judicial records on the morning of April 10.
Police said they were alerted around 8 in the morning of April 8 by a person who called “for a social assistance control about someone possibly in the rear storage area of a U-Haul motion truck, which was hitting the door.”
A Sheriff saw the U-Haul tried to get in touch with the driver, but Walker fled, police said.
A Santa Fe police officer tried to stop the U-Haul, and “Mr. Walker did not stop and ran a red light,” according to the police.
A search that involved a team of drones, multiple agencies for the application of the law and tire deflation devices developed, with Walker fleeing by road traffic and a neighborhood before stopping on an sidewalk after most of the tires of the moving truck had deflated, according to the police.
The Santa Fe Police shared a video on Facebook of the search and arrest of man.
The police found the man and the woman in the back of U-Haul, police said. Doctors were brought to evaluate them, and the man informed that his back was injured while he was inside the truck, according to the police.
During the persecution, Walker is accused of diverting the U-Haul towards the deputy of a sheriff that was out of his vehicle, and towards a Santa Fe police car, according to the police.
