Police said they found the mother of a newborn boy in London, Ontario, left at the Ontario gate earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the baby was found on the front bent over a house on Sterling Street in northeastern downtown.
He was stuffed with a flannel blanket with accompanying banknotes, urging who found the child to take care of him.
The baby was taken to the hospital and was very healthy. Police were concerned about her mother’s health and called on the public to help her find her. The Children’s Assistance Association (CAS) participated in the case.
“As the investigation progresses, we will be restricted to what information to provide to respect the privacy of all participants,” Travis said.
CAS says there are several reasons why parents can surrender to their babies or feel unable to take care of them, including mental health or economic and social challenges.
“Sometimes people don’t have a lot of support that is relevant to them, so they may feel isolated and lonely and unsure about how to deal with pregnancy,” said Carrie Thomas, director of services at the London Children’s Assistance Association and Middlesex.
Thomas said that while it was impossible to comment on the details of the case, Thomas said it was imperative to connect with the family when the baby entered care.
“We have an obligation to be united with our parents,” Thomas said. Always make efforts to find extended family members who are looking for children before considering foster care.
