The life of now 25 years has changed forever after night with friends in 2022.
“I can’t do things without worrying in the world as I used to do,” Connor told 9News.
Connor accepted a Chávez trip, who pretended to be his Uber driver.
“He moved away knowing what he was doing at that time, obviously me, foreign,” he said.
Chávez, 42, told his victim that he would take her home for free, but then the trip took a sinister turn.
“At that time I sent a text message to my friend saying ‘Hey, my Uber driver is trying to take my hand … what the hell is happening,” he recalled.
“My phone died instantly after sending that message.”
Unable to open the door, Connor was raped twice.
“I left the car, the panic attack, I couldn’t breathe, I began to cry,” he said.
After informing the attack on the police, Chávez, a father of two, was accused and finally declared himself guilty.
On Friday in the Court, Connor bravely faced his rapist for the first time since that night.
“He was surreal,” he said.
“It was as if I only … I couldn’t even look him in the eye because I saw him looking at me and alone … I couldn’t even look at everything.”
Chávez has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison.
“I thought I should have obtained 14 [years]That is the maximum, “he said.
Connor only discovered on Friday’s judgment that on that fateful night, Chávez saw that he was intoxicated and deliberately turned his car to pick it up.
“I just want to know if he knows what he did was one of the worst things a person could do to another human,” said Connor.
