The frontbenter of the Jacinta Price coalition commented that he wants to “make Australia great” while he was in the Perth campaign, but, a short time later, he denied having said that.

Price joined the opposition leader Peter Dutton and Michaelia Cash in a party rally at the Mount pleasant Bowling Club this morning, where he referred to the crying “Make America Again Again” by US President Donald Trump.

“We have incredible candidates just throughout the country that I am so proud of being able to be next to us and ensure that we can make Australia great again, that we can bring Australia back to his former glory, that we can re -run Australia again,” he said.

But later, when Price was asked if his comment was a reference to Trump, politics said he did not realize that he had said those words.

“If I said that, I don’t even realize that I said that, but no, I’m Australian and I want to make sure Australia returns to normal,” he said at a joint press conference.

Price, who would be the government’s efficiency chief if the coalition is chosen in the next federal elections, also denied that the role was an ode for the efficiency department of the Trump government and Elon Musk.

Instead, he called the media “obsessed with Donald Trump.”

“Allow me to clarify, the Government’s efficiency department is not an apartment. It has nothing to do with the department. In fact, it will sit in the prime minister and the cabinet. And only to clarify, it is not an ode to Donald Trump,” he said.

“Let’s be very, very clear. The media are obsessed with Donald Trump. We are not obsessed with Donald Trump.”

Dutton spent a lot of time during the press conference by diverting questions from journalists about whether the coalition was adopting Trump’s style policy.

When asked if that message was useful for his campaign, he spoke about the cost of the life crisis that came to families in Western Australia.

“They are making decisions at this time about whether they ensure their home or not, right? So let’s deal with reality for people,” he said.

“I really believe that if we want to improve their lives and we want our country to return to normal, we have to change the government.”

A journalist asked: “Do you support your senator this morning? Do you want to make Australia again be great?”

“I want to get rid of a bad government. That’s what I want to do,” Dutton replied.

“I am incredibly proud of what Jacinta has done by saving our voice from La Voz [to Parliament] Because that would have destroyed the social fabric of our country and in this election, we have the opportunity to get rid of a bad government.
