The family of an Ontario man who has never seen since early February is speaking publicly, hoping to find clues about his missing.
Liam Gabriel Toman, 22, went skiing with friends to Mont-Tremblant on the top of the mountain, but hasn’t heard since he spent the night at a popular resort bar (Le p’tit Caribou).
“We saw the video in the bar, and then we saw him leaving the bar, and then we saw him talking to people, and there was some communication.”
“He texted me by chance and I think he was trying to text a friend he left behind. From the text, we were sure that was, ‘See me outside.'”
The text was sent at 3:16 am on February 2. The family said he has not used the phone or accessed his bank account or any social media account since then.
Chris Toman said: “Unfortunately, it wasn’t until around six o’clock on Sunday that we found out that it was a call from a friend Ryan’s step brother, Ryan, who said: ‘We’ve never heard it from Liam since 3am yesterday.’

The family reached out to the police, who set up a command post and soon began a search.
“We have drones, we have policemen in snowmobile, quad bikes, and our investigators who use cameras to do all the businesses, restaurants and bars to determine the last time they see Liam,” said Marc Tessier of Quebec.
“Search on the surrounding area plus the mountain. This was done for six consecutive days.”
Liam’s mother, father and stepmother immediately headed to Mont Tremblant to search and distribute brochures and other brochures at the resort.
“We spent a while in Tremblant, lasting 11 days, and then the day we had to leave was very difficult for everyone. I want to go back the next day and stay there.”
The family set up a website and urged anyone who might have any information to contact them or the police.
They say Liam recently graduated from Niagara College, is an electrical technician and plans to start a career in the industry.
Kathleen Toman added: “Something has to happen – someone has to see something.”
Neither Lepit Reindeer nor the Trembling Resort Association or the Monte Trebrett Station will comment due to ongoing police investigations.
“Unfortunately, in this case we have to wait until spring to snow. This winter, there is a lot of snow in the area, so it’s hard to find evidence. But usually the plan is when the snow melts, and we do restore the team to the area and just restart the search,” Tessier said.
In March, as the snow began to melt, workers at a resort found a wallet. Police confirmed it belonged to Liam.
Chris Toman said: “It was very cautious in his wallet, which also shocked us. He kept protecting it and making sure it was pulled away and everything was pulled away. So it worried us because he couldn’t see him at that time, so he found the wallet wasn’t too far from where his hotel.”
“This is not Liam’s nature,” Kathleen Toman said.
“We texted Liam that night. He texted both of us when he was in the bar. That was Liam.”
“No one has disappeared. Someone has to know something.”
