More than $ 20 million in vacation remediation payments were made to the New Zealand team in Nelson and Marlborough.
Issues related to the vacation law, identified in 2016, found that the district health counselors were not paying the team correctly.
Vice -President -Chief of Health of New Zealand, Te Waipounamu, Martin Keogh, said 3029 employees in Nelson Marlborough were collectively due approximately $ 20.6 million.
Nurses, doctors, allied health team, health assistants, cleans and administrators were among those affected.
Keogh said the process was complex and time consuming, requiring a large amount of manual processing.
Nationally, there were about 90,000 current employees and 130,000 ex -employees covered by the vacation law remediation project for the period from May 1, 2010 to the present day.
The total amount paid nationally was now over $ 334.1 million in 45,667 current employees.
Nelson Marlborough is the thirteenth payroll nationally to have the payments processed for the current team with Auckland, condeds from Manukau, Waitematā, Hawke Bay, South Canterbury, Taranaki, Wairapa and Four Exervices Completed and a partial payment made in Bay of Plenty.
Keogh said the Health NZ was intended to conclude payments for remediation of the holiday law for most current employees by July 2025, with all other pending payments to be completed this year. The first payments to ex -employees should start soon.
