Michelle Obama has attacked the people who assumed to be divorced.

The former first lady of the 61 -year -old has been married to Barack Obama for 32 years, and has attacked people who make assumptions about their relationship simply depending on her making her own decisions since they left the White House in 2017.

She told the ‘work in progress with Sophia Bush’: “The interesting thing is that, when I say ‘no’, for the most part people are like, ‘I understand and I’m fine’.

“That’s what we, like women, believe … we fight with disappointing people.

“I mean, so much that this year people … they could not even understand that I was making a decision of myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.”

Michelle argued that if people do not fit the “stereotype” that others expect from them, then their actions or portrayed in a certain way.

She said: “This could not be an adult woman simply making a set of decisions for herself, right?

“But that’s what society does to us.

“We actually start, finally going: ‘What am I doing? Who am I doing this for?’

“And if it does not fit the type of stereotype of what people think we should do, then it is labeled as something negative and horrible.”

Michelle, who has the daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, with her husband, is in a place where she wants to be “making some decisions of large girls” after entering his 60 years.

She explained: “If not now, when? What am I waiting for? How am I going to spend 20 years?

“Now is the time you start asking me these difficult questions of ‘Who wants to be really every day?’

“I am trying to do that more and more, so how do you see? It seems that what I want to see, and I still find time to give speeches and be in the world and work on projects.”
