Royals news live: King Charles and Camilla to begin Italy tour after health setback

The King and Queen will mark their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday by spending the evening as guests of honor at a state banquet in Rome.

The Black Das dinner, a highlight of the couple’s four-day state visit to Italy that begins on Monday, will be attended by prominent figures of Italian society.

The day has been two decades since Charles and Camilla married in Windsor Guildhall on April 9, 2005.

The king and queen will start their three-day journey to Italy on Monday to his hospital accommodation on Monday.

In the historical visit, Charles will become the first British sovereign to address both Houses of the Italian Parliament, and he will also hold audiences with the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella and Prime Pinister Giorgia Meloni.

The monarch would also visit Pope Francis in the Vatican, but it was postponed because the pope was advised to have “an extended period of rest and recovery” after surviving a five -week life -threatening pneumonia.

Charles has faced his own health problems over the past few weeks. He was forced last Friday to postpone his commitments after a short stay in hospital after experiencing side effects of his cancer treatment.
