A popular chocolate mark warned its clients not to eat certain groups of two of its large bars as it may contain ‘small stones’.
Tony’s Chocolonely issued the warning for his Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar on April 1, saying, ‘We wish it was an April, but we never had the quality of our products. ‘
The company told clients to return the chocolate to the supermarket where they bought it to receive a full refund.
The food recall affects the two bars with the lot codes 162633, 162614, 163061, 4331, 4332 and 4333.
Dark almond sea salt bars with the best before dates 28 February 2026 and 2 April 2026, and all is best before the date between 26 and 28 November of this year.
The company explained on its website that it managed to find the problem to one of its almond suppliers.
After an investigation, it discovered that the new origin of almonds in a limited group was “insufficiently processed” at the supplier’s factory, which led to small stones present in the final product.
In a statement, Tony’s Chocolonely said: ‘We are very sorry to issue this recall, and for the inconvenience that it will cause people who bought these products.
‘Although the likelihood of a product affected is low, we always place the safety and satisfaction of our consumers first, which is why we made the decision to recall these products.
“We apologize to consumers and our partners for the impact it will have.”
Last week, buyers received a warning not to eat a vegetable lasagna in Iceland about the fear of being plastic.
Customers of the High Street supermarket chain are asked to return vegetable lasagnes in a 400g package with the best dates of July 23, 2026 and 30 July 2026.
The Food Standards Agency issued a notice explaining the “precautions”.
