A man has been charged with 64 offenses in connection with an investigation into a Hull funeral directors, Humberside police said.
An investigation was launched in Legacy Independent Funeral Directs in March 2024.
Robert Bush, 47, formerly of Kirk Ella, East Yorkshire, has now been charged with 64 offenses.
Humberside police say the charges contain 30 charges of preventing a legitimate and decent funeral and 30 counts of fraud by false representation related to the deceased repaired from the funeral site.
Bush has also been charged with two counts of theft of charities, one score of fraudulent trade related to funeral plans, and one score of fraud related to human as victims are involved in.
He will appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on June 25.
In a statement, Deputy Chief Constable Dave Marshall said the power had updated the families of 35 with the development and made initial contact with additional victims who were possibly affected.
“My sincere thanks to those affected for their patience and understanding,” he said.
“It has always been the priority and the core of the entire investigation, and it will remain, and we will please ask that their privacy still be respected.”
A 55-year-old woman arrested in July 2024 was released today without further steps.
