The Conservatives have abandoned the party’s new Westminster candidate, Lourence Singh, Bunaby-Myradville, riding in the upcoming federal election.
Singh is the third candidate to withdraw Tuesday by the Tories on Tuesday after Mark McKenzie in southwestern Ontario and Stefan Marquis of Montreal removed.
The Conservatives did not share why they gave up Singh, but only confirmed that he was sent into the candidate in a line of emails to CBC News.
When arrived by phone, Singh refused to comment further on Tuesday night.
The former conservative candidate is a real estate agent. His campaign, along with conservative leader Pierre Poilievre, posted his image and ran for the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Ride.
New Westminster – Maillardville covers New Westminster, as well as areas of Burnaby and Southwest Coquitlam to the east.
Its boundaries have been redrawn for population growth. The current member of Congress in the region is Peter Julian of the NDP.
Windsor (Tecumseh) – Lakeshore candidate McKenzie, who has been revoked in past comments, expressed support for public hanging.
Meanwhile, Laurier-Sainte-Marie candidate Stefan Marquis was revoked after social media posts about conspiracy theories on topics such as Covid-19, vaccines, World Economic Forum and the invasion of Ukraine.
