The most senior and longtime civil servants can be offered a maximum of £ 95,000 to end their work as part of a government efficiency drive.

A spokesman said each application to the scheme will be investigated from a case to case to ensure that “we retain our critical skills and experience”.
It is up to every government department to decide how they use their scheme.
The voluntary exit schemes form part of the government’s ambition to reduce bureaucracy and make the state more efficient in the midst of a gloomy economic background.
Before Spring Statement, Ms Reeves has announced plans to reduce operating costs by 15% By 2030, which the ministers said, would save £ 2.2bn.
