Tanya Dearns appointed the new executive -chief of Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union.

It is with great pleasure to announce Tanya Dearns as the new chief executive of the Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union.

The Wairarapa Bush Rugby Union Council is thrilled to have guaranteed Tanya Dearns services as its new executive -chief. With extensive experience in sports administration in various codes and a proven history of success in Heartland’s rugby environment, Tanya is an exceptional addition to the team.

Currently serving as a chief executive of the midfielder rugby union, Tanya brings a profound understanding of the heart rugby landscape, in which Wairapa Bush proudly competes.

During her term in the middle of the singer, she supervised significant growth in players’ participation, especially among teenagers and women and girls, and led the union to a successful 2024 Heartland campaign.

“It is an absolute privilege to join the Wairarapy Bush Rugby Union as executive -chief,” said Tanya. “I am in love with Rugby’s heart environment and I look forward to building the incredible work that is already happening within the community.”

Tanya is an ex -Nz Silver Fern (31 Caps) and also has an extensive history of netball training, including having acted as a coach of the Pulse Netball team in New Zealand and the UK Superleague sirens.

She will start her new role on April 22, 2025.
