Justin Hawkins was “petrified” about acting at tax concerts for the late Taylor Hawkins.
The leader of the dark was a culminating surprise point of the 2022 concerts in London and Los Angeles organized by Dave Grohl in honor of his late Foo Fighters bandmate, but the creator of Hits Hitmaker ‘I believe in a thing called Love’ I was worried about being wrong, particularly due to the connection of his own group with the battery.
He told Rolling Stone magazine in Great Britain: “When Taylor died, he was devastating for us because he was Rufus’s godfather (Taylor, drummer).
“We were on the way in Canada and it was a horrible moment, so we did our best to support Rufus during that time.
“But I also knew Taylor and joked about having the same last name, and there was even a guy who claimed to be the lost family bond among us.”
“I received the call from Dave Grohl and I was a little petrified in some way, because it meant a lot to me and there was a lot at stake. I didn’t want to fuck him, because I am someone who really likes self-sabotage.”
Justin spent some time preparing for concerts and was finally very satisfied with his performance and how well he received.
He said: “I reserved a study, I prepared for him correctly and that is very different from me.
“I had to do it well, and it was extremely well received, and I think it was when people began to see me a little different.
“I acted with Brian Johnson from AC/DC too and he called me after chatting, and I saw him in a prize recently.
“I am surprised to think that they consider me a national treasure, but it blows it even more to think that I am in terms of first name with one of my real heroes.”
