Leon Draisaitl scored twice, including the overtime title, and added his assists back from injury as the Edmonton Oilers beat rival Calgary Flames 3-2 on Saturday to beat two games 3-2.
“The nervous game is always more special and a little fun,” Draisaitl said after winning. “I think we’re doing well in most cases – hanging in it – and obviously you have to win those games, too.”
“In a critical moment, some pretty good games are probably the biggest ones that are tied to the target; snatch along the wings,” Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch said when asked about Draisaitl’s performance.
“I’m sure he got a few votes for some hardware after the season.”
Jeff Skinner rewinds the puck back to Draisaitl in the slot, beating Calgary goalkeeper Dustin Wolf into overtime 2:25 for his 51st league lead in the season.
Viktor Arvidsson also scored, with Nurse Darnell providing two assists for the Oilers (42-26-5) in the absence of star forward Connor McDavid, top defender Mattias Ekholm and starting goalkeeper Stuart Skinner. Edmonton entered the second place in the Pacific Division with the Los Angeles Kings.

Yegor Sharangovich and Brayden Pachal answered Flames (34-26-12), who lost two games in a row and took a slight blow in pursuit of a field playoff game, with seven points in the field at St. Louis Bruce and Minnesota.
Calvin Pickard paused 26 times to collect the Oilers’ cyber victory, while Wolf recorded 26 saves in the loss of the flames.
