A criminology student who asked his course lecturer how to get away with murder before he stabbed a woman to death and hampered her friend in a random attack on Bournemouth Beach, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 39 years.
Nasen Saadi, 21, killed Amie Gray, 34, and seriously wounded Leanne Miles, now 39, while the couple enjoyed a little fire in the summer in the summer to stay warm at the Dorset Seaside Resort.
The 21-year-old man stabbed the personal coach ten times, also in her heart, and her Ms Miles remained 20 times on May 24 last year, with Ms. Gray’s ‘Courageous Final Act’ to protect her friend.
The defendant investigated places to carry out the murder and was’ fascinated ‘with knives, and bought six blades from websites, with several at his aunt’s house where he lived, as well as at his parents’ home.
Saadi, from Croydon, South London, was sentenced on Friday at a minimum term of 39 years at the Winchester Crown Court, after being convicted of murder and attempted murder after a hearing at the same court in December. He was also sentenced for not giving his cellphone pen code to the police.
The hearing heard that Saadi, who studied criminology and criminal psychology at the University of Greenwich, used the name “Ninja Killer” for his Snapchat account and also used the username “nskills” on his computer.
Saadi, who ran out of a physical education course, did searches about the Milly Dowler and Brianna Ghey murders.
The court said Saadi booked two hotels for a four-night accommodation in Bournemouth from May 21 and was displayed on CCTV with a “re-determination” of the beach and the scene of the murder, which took place on May 24 at 23,40 hours.
During his stay, the defendant, who is a fan of horror films, also went to the cinema to see ‘Slasher’ film The Strangers – Chapter 1.
According to his trial, Ms Gray tried to deduce Saadi while he attacked Ms Miles and ‘got away’ so her friend could flee.
The defendant, who chose not to give evidence, denied that he had carried out the attacks, saying that it was a case of wrong identity and added that he should have been “obscured” when it happened.
Sarah Jones KC, who presented a motive for the attack, said: “It looks like this defendant wanted to know what it would be like to take life, maybe he wanted to know what it would be like to make women feel afraid, maybe he thought it would make him feel powerful, made him interesting for others. Maybe he just can’t go to see people in a happy, normal social interaction, and he decided to sit out, to hurt, to slaughter. ‘
In a statement released after the hearing, Ms. Gray’s wife Sian Gray said: “Amie will never be forgotten. She has touched the lives of so much. The tremendous support and love shown by all reflect that Amie’s life has been brutally taken up, but now she can rest in peace.
