The illegal businessman to kill at home fined $ 8k

Peni Naivaluvou, 64, appeared at the District Court of Papakura on Friday by the illegal massacre and the sale of animals, and not fulfilling a warning of direction to interrupt the killing operation at home.

New Zealand’s food security, who sued the man, said the business was not registered and is therefore not subject to food security standards.

Naivaluvou was forbidden to kill or sell animals after an investigation of 2022/2023, where a secret food safety investigator bought one of his slaughtered pigs and issued a management warning to stop operations.

However, Naivalou ignored the realization that he was served.

“Naivalida told New Zealand’s food security investigators that he understood the direction warning requirements, but continued to operate as an illegal killing business at home, killing pigs and at least a chicken,” said New Zealand’s vice -director of food security Vincent Arbuckle.

Arbuckle said most operators in New Zealand followed the rules.

“Those who try to avoid registration and operate outside New Zealand’s strict food security rules are taking unacceptable risks with consumer safety and endangering our international reputation.

“When we find evidence of people deliberately disrespecting the law, we act and there are consequences – as we saw in the court’s response,” he said.
