Two members of the service were killed and another was in serious condition after an incident with a vehicle early Tuesday in Santa Theresa, New Mexico, a statement from the Northcom Northcom (Northcom) said.
Shortly before 9am, “three members of the service in support of the joint working group, southern border were involved in an incident with a vehicle,” Northcom said.
The incident on Tuesday is the first victims related to the mission of the military in the United States along the border with Mexico, which have been discovered.
More than 10,000 members of the Active Service are authorized for the border mission.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, staff said.
